Paracheilinus Filamentosus
Paracheilinus Wrasse should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work with cracks and crevices should be provided for resting and hiding. Paracheilinus Wrasse are also known as flasher Wrasse as they flash vibrant colours and their fins during mating season and if threatened. A diet of meaty foods along with Wrasse preparations should be provided. Flasher Wrasse are hardy, reef safe and relatively peaceful. They can be kept with other Wrasse and communal fish in appropriately sized aquarium. Wrasse are hermaphrodites meaning they start as juveniles/females but at some point in their life may turn into a male. Wrasse are jumpers, provide an aquarium with a tight-fitting lid.
The Filamented Flasher Wrasse are also known as the Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse. Filamented Flasher Wrasse colouration may vary depending upon maturity, collection area or breeding period. Males show a red to orange colour with red horizontal stripes on its body, while females are more subdued. Filamented Flasher Wrasse can grow up to 9cm in length.
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 200L or larger for this species.
Due to variations within species and age of fish, your item may not look identical to the image provided.
