Atelomycterus Fasciatus
Atelomyterus Sharks should only be added to very large aquariums with a fine sand bed. Rockwork with plenty of caves, cracks and crevices should be provided for resting. Sharks lack airbladders instead they have two lobed liver that maintains their buoyancy. Sharks have a keen sense of smell and eyesight as well as renewable teeth. The are sensitive to both electric impulses and copper maintain aquarium with neither present. Sharks require a diet rich in meaty based foods. Do not house with larger, more aggressive fish as sharks can be easily picked at. Banded Cat Sharks are also known as Longliped Spotted Catshark, are a brown colour with gray coloured saddles and large black spots and stripes. Banded Cat Sharks can grow up to 45cm in length.
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 1000L or larger for this species.
